overheating 200 1980

I installed a Hayden 3701(#? - the biggest Pep Boys had, rated for V-8 auxiliary duty) fan in my 245NA, with a fixed-temp relay, as the sole air-mover when the old fan-clutch gave up. In central Texas triple-digit summer heat (109! a couple weeks ago) with a/c on and sitting in traffic, gauge shows 9:00.

Is your elec fan replacing the mech fan, or as pusher-auxiliary in addition to the OEM fan?

New t-stat, maybe? Or coolant reservoir cap?

Tom
