the mounting nut is near the back of the radio (toward the engine, that is) on the side, it connects the radio to a mounting bracket... if you are installing an aftermarket radio, this bracket may not work; the first one i did i used a coat hanger for the rear mount, and the last one i managed to get the bracket to work, basically. good luck.
