My K-Jet tune up sequence. Here's a pretty long reply... 200

I know there's lots of loose/ cracked hoses. That's why I needed to find all the leaks before I could tune it.
There's definatley a leak, the thing makes loud hissing noises, and revs itself up and down as the extra air being sucked in through the holes combines with the extra fuel which is coming in from I don't know where. That's why I included some tests for the Cold start injector

My understanding of what the CPR actually does is improving, and these replies have helped a lot, especially the link to british Volvo club.

You mentioned the Aux air valve. That problem was sorted months ago, with a new valve which we tested at different temperatures (having a fridge in the garage helps). The hoses hooked up to it are crap though. I'm going to clamp everything.

The Fuel flow figures, I now realise, were for a different car. Thanks for correcting them. I've been trying to get hold of the Bosch book in Australia, but no joy so far.

Yes your right, in theory the Vac leaks would result in a lean condition, but somewhow I'm getting enough excess fuel to more than compensate. Even when its been running, after it stalls the plugs are blackened and wet with fuel, and that's with a big hissing leak somewhere.

The reason I'm retorquing the bolts, is because I didn't get to re-torque them earlier when I put the head on (wouldn't start)

Could be worse, at least its not burning coolant any more
