1997 960 ABS system

ABS has nothing to do with it. ABS is blamed for a host of maladies, because some people look at it as this big egg that they can't get inside to look at.

What it does, is it activates when your wheels are about to lock up. It doesn't warp rotors. This is the second similar post that I've seen on this subject (ABS ~= warped rotors) in the last week or two. Believe me, your problems lie elsewhere, as in improper wheel torque, rough or corroded wheel mating surfaces, etc.

The only thing you've done by disconnecting the ABS, is to disconnect the ABS. It just waits out there for someone to call it into servlce, but during the rest of the time, it is merely an innocent bystander.
