Ron, I had a lot of problems with manifold gaskets, the manifolds themselves, and defects in the carbs, all causing some level of vacuum leak (all part of the joys of setting up Webers). I removed the PCV valve and went of an open crankcase just to get that out of the equation for troubleshooting purposes. It's all finally fixed and running very well -- I'll try the PCV again once a few other projects are put to rest.
