No boost, no fun 700 1991

You would almost certainly have more symptoms than that if you had a bad turbo. If it's getting to the middle of the gauge, it's at least spinning. If you don't hear bad noises or see smoke, your turbo is probably in fair shape. More likely, you have a bad vacuum line, especially on the wastegate actuator circuit. You could also have a leak in the line to the gauge and be getting more boost than you realize.
