02 Sensor Experiments 900 1994

So now that the check engine light no longer illuminates, the big question is whether the generic Bosch 3 wire sensor is working fine with this Bendix/Regina system or not? Obviously the sense wire flips back and forth between the usual voltages of .2 volts and .8 volts. Does the ECU have to "re-learn" the info coming from new sensors whenever they are replaced? The new Volvo part of course has the special locking plug on the end of the wire and I'm sure it is specific to this type of car. Other than that, I'm curious if the 02 sensor actually is different. The OEM part retails for 285.00, compared with 40 bucks for the generic Bosch 3 wire sensor. Thoughts?
Thanks,
-WF
