engne temp sensor 700

The outside temperature should have little or no effect on this sensor when the engine is up to temperature. The active porion on the temp sensor is in the coolant around the engine and it is this temperature that is being measured.

Obviously when the engine is 'cold', this sensor will give the reading of the atmospheric temperature because this is the temp of the engine.
