You can't miss the colorful thing behind the brake/clutch pedal. It is blue and yellow or blue red.
Take the turbo on the manifold if it spins freely without much side to side play in the shaft. If you can get it for $50 or so, it is certainly good for a core if not more with a build in '96. Whatch out though, you'll start looking for a 240T to rebuild. Now those are fun.
