fitting mechanical spedometer on 'digital' tranny 200

The thing is I dont want to use an other rear axle and also not an other speedometer gauge in the dash. I'm planning on fitting a AW71 onto a B20, there are ways to work it out. I think that from all the gearboxes (either being an manual M47 or an auto AW70/71) only about 10% has an mechanical speedometer. Which means, there are rare, and therefor expensive...
So I thought, why not buy a 'cheap' digital tranny and figure out a way to make an alternative for that mechanical speedo...
