242 seats WILL go into a 142. I have 242GT seats in mine. BUT... you MUST get brackets from a '74 140 or a '74-5 164. Then you bolts the brackets from the 140 to the seat tracks of the 240 seats.

The door panels from a 242 will not fit a 142 with vent wings. 1974 142 and '75-'77 242 doors are a direct fit. 242 doors after '77 require that the latch on the door jamb be changed.
