Idle Question...help 700

Here's the deal: when I first start my '87 760T the idle is just a bit erratic but as soon as I put it in drive the engine stalls...even if I let it warm up. It's better when it's warm but not completely smooth. Need advice and help from the gurus on the brickboard.
