Anyone successfully remove lens from body of side marker lamp?

You don't beed to remove the lens to achieve that: you can rewire the back of the lamp.

But to remove the lens: I would try (first) the caulk remover sold at home stores (the kind used to remove silicone and acrylic caulks from bath tile), then perhaps some acetone. But the latter will craze the plastic if you are not careful. Apply with a hypodermic.
