Chassis brace perhaps? 140-160

I think you may be missing the point. Strut cars NEED chassis braces because the suspension is partially mounted to the sheetmetal.

The 140 suspension is entirely mounted to a VERY stout crossmember. I can't see that crossmember flexing much. ITB-class 140 race cars don't use any bracing on the front suspension. That's good enough for me.
