In the idle position, the TPS engages the constant idle speed system. In the wot position, the TPS does something with the mixture (rich??).....

Power loss, particularly at higher load or speed or heavier throttle, is often either a plugging fuel filter (causing starvation) or a plugging CAT (causing constipation)...
