As a previous post indicated the heat sheild welds on the front pipe of these cars have a tendency to break and then rattle at high rpm. Many people just cut them off myself included. Pre-detetonation usually occurs a low rpm under a heavy load such as going up a steep hill of taking off from a stop with AC on.
