Doing the removal on a very hot day, in the sun softens the goo and makes it easy. Having said that, I take a putty knife and work it around the edge and keep a bit of pressure on the glass from the inside and you will see it stat to separate and pull free. It can take 10 minutes if the car is warm. Definitely clean and repair with JB weld, clean the drain holes and get a 91-on Volvo (Pilkington) glass to put back in.
