Twice this year I've had the opportunity to do just that. First pristine dash I removed was from an 88. I had my daughter's 91 in mind. Oops. Did not fit - as it has differences due to the air bag and knee bolster used 90 and up.
Found another in a 92. I did that recently enough to recall a couple features of the job. Basically you remove the glovebox, cluster, radio, and center vent. Then the trim around the steering wheel and ignition lock. The decorative trim pushes into the dash, and the piece along the center may hide one long self-tapping screw that looks to be an anti-rattle mod. All the other screws are along the bottom frame of the dash and, if you open the doors, at the side. Be careful with the sharp sheet metal bracket that retains the rubber supports for the defroster ducts. Disconnect the rubber carefully. My experience is to find very few Torx screws in 89, but 90's are full of them.
First one was twenty minutes to remove. I recall that because I was working against the closing time deadline at the junkyard. Don't set it in your trunk on top of an uncovered can of P B'laster. The perfume will hang around for weeks.
