Yes, plan on doing both sides. One side to learn on, the other will be easier.

It is possible to do them one at a time. That requires unhooking both shock struts and having a long board handy to prop up the side you are going to do.

Board needs to be a length that stays in place while holding the door about horizontal, and slanted just a little towards the front of the car. The door will try to pivot around, which you don't want.

Good to have a helper, since the car will drop, raising the door (if is't on the board) when you climb into the cargo space to loosen up the hinge bolts.

With the hinge in your hand, check that it pivots smoothly and correctly. When it is open, you can see the end of the roll pin that holds the pivot pin fixed to on half the hinge. That pin rusts through and the pivpot pin can move sideways until it shears off the wires. Lube the area, use something that will stay like a lithium grease.
