If you only changed the bulb that was bad, the bulb warning light will stay on because of the difference in resistance between a new and old bulb. Since bulbs are manufactured to such exacting tolerances, when one burns out it's usually only a matter of weeks or sometimes days before the matching one burns out also. For this reason it's always a good idea to change bulbs in pairs, irrespective of the warning light.
