Gislaved snow tires

It's now that time of year last week.
So, I'm talking to someone about buying their (barely used) Gislaved Nord Frost IIs, on my assumption that they are studded tires; he says they are not. Every other place I've seen them discussed though, they are mentioned as studded. Are there two sorts of Nord Frosts IIs?
Anyone had experience with them? Should I get them they will go on a 965.
