89 240 Engine Problems 200

I've heard suggested that putting a cleaner in the fuel might loosen up deposits before the filter, allowing them to flow into the filter and therefore clog it, but I don't know how valid this claim is.

If you haven't replaced the fuel filter recently, maybe you should consider it anyway (recommended every 30,000 miles). I know when I replaced mine, I couldn't even blow through the old one - it seemed air tight. That couldn't have been doing my fuel pumps much good!
