Go to uniberp's post, this forum, of August 21, 2003. The guy near Cape Cod is Don Thibault in East Sandwich, Mass., p1800@gis.net. John Parker, v-performance.com, has all the stuff for the conversion. In my AT to MT swap I decided to go with the M41 rather than the T5 because even with the bellhousing, flywheel, clutch, etc. it still came out more economical (about $400, but you already have all that stuff), although, John Parker's prices are very reasonable -- I just couldn't find a T5 for less than $350 plus shipping. Don Thibault asked $550 for the complete M41. He might be able to do better if you only need the gearbox. If you can find a T5 for about $100, I would consider the conversion worth doing. You might consider a Want Ad in the Classifieds of this and the other Volvo sites. There are plenty of M41s lying around in New England, it just takes a bit of searching to find them. Of course, the fact that all the junkyards are snowed in makes winter scrounging less appealing.
