Describe how the engine is running, any codes set? using any oil, coolant, any obvious leaks, unusual noises? Has the car been overheated? Pinging / Detonation? How often do you change your oil? Dino / Synthetic?

I suggest also performing a leak down test and posting the results.

It depends on what other information you can provide. It can be anything from a blown head gasket, warped head, a sticking valve(s), to something more serious (but also more unlikely) such as a bad camshaft lobe or a busted piston, etc...
