I asked the same question a few months ago and found out that the 240 switch, or the whole 240 shifter, won't work. Mounting an external, momentary contact switch with external wires on the 1800 shifter has been done and seems to work well. It would work with Paul Malloy's wiring scheme, which can't be beat. I used the turn signal switch and am happy with it.
