follow up to Should I Even Consider Buying This 940?? 900

To All,
This is a follow up to my earlier post, "Should I Even Consider Buying This 940??". I drove the 94 940T to my mechanic with the flashers on in the right hand lane of the, top speed on the freeway 45mph, drivers waving their fists at me,etc. My mechanic was very busy and had no open lifts, but he did give it a pretty good look over in his driveway. Check eng light codes came up with a 1-1-3 which he said most likely was a bad AMM. The AMM did have a crack in the top. He said it was also possible that the catalytic converter was plugged up causing the problems. He noted that the all new radiator, hoses, coolant tank, new head gasket as well as removing the oil cap and looking at the cam shaft indicated a possible history of an overheated engine. There was also some smoke coming out of the exhaust which he said possibly indicated the fuel burning too rich. He said that he could not confirm 100% exactly what was wrong with the car without digging deeper and costing me some money to find out, but his gut told him that I should stay away from the car. I bought him lunch! I took the car back to the dealer, told what I knew about it and said "no thanks." The salesman said he would take it to a Volvo mechanic for repairs and let me know. The turbo btw appeared to be fine. I am thinking of calling the PO anyway as was suggested earlier and asking questions. I was able to get his name and address off the title.
Any thoughts or comments??

Luke
