another dumb question

I'm embarrassed to even ask this but seeing Ive been noted to do stupid things ( it isn't improving with age either) I need a double check this before I cut a power steering line to install a Magnefine filter. Am I
right in that the flow is towards the pump in the soft, low pressure line and is this line 3/8 ID? Many thanks!
