Just bought my first 700

You got a good buy. The only weakness in this car is the engine wiring harness, the insulation of which can degrade. See the 700/900 FAQ at this site for more details.
If the PO did not change the radiator or heater water valve, now is the time to do it. They fatigue over time and can break suddenly. Hoses too regular need replacement. More details in the FAQ, as with the clunk in the front end.
