'70-'73 Rear Ends 1800

Phil,

I'm sure that the '72, '73 ES's, w/ BW35 Automatic had a 3.9:1 rear.

Not as sure, but I think
the ES, w/ M41 Standard came matched to a 4.1:1 rear,
and the '70,71,72 E's, w/ M41 Manual, had a 4.3:1 rear.

The metal tag (usually covered in grease/road dirt/undercoating) on the differential housing will tell what it was originally, but, like on my '72 ES, which was converted, by a dealership, from Auto to Manual, it says it's a 3.9:1 rear end, but that doesn't mean that's what's inside.
