Hi There,

I'm in the middle of an 86 744 (no turbo) random hard start and hesitation issue. Thinking it is moisture again but too cold here to get under the hood!

I had this problem before also and I could predict when it wouldn't start by the level of moisture in the air. Cold foggy mornings in the fall... forget it. The problem went away at that time with a cap and rotor replacement and a thorough cleaning/inspection of plugs and ignition wires, coil wires too.

I have a problem with the distributer input wires (to hall sensor?) where the 'plug in attachment point' is loose/cracked.

Any relationship to weather or 'car wash days' for you?
