More than likely one of the connectors on the side of the transmission has developed a poor connection. I would start by disconnecting them, cleaning and reconnecting with some protective dialectric greese to reduce future corrosion.

'96 965 with 16' wheels at 112K. Had '85 745 Turbo Diesel for 200K.
