I had put PB Blaster on the fasteners a week ahead, and then put it on again last night. The rubber bushing may have been keeping it from reaching the rusty area. I want to reuse the nut, if it's OK. So I'll be trying to get it off the broken part tonight. I've been spraying it with PB Blaster throughout the day.
