sagging rear bumper 200 1986

I've experienced this on my '86 and '88. Basically, the problem is that the bumper is aluminum and the mounting plates (attached to the hydraulic absorber) are steel. Over time, galvanic corrosion rots the aluminum.

The cheap fix is this: the bumper attaches to the mounting plate with 3 bolts. The mounting plate has an unused 4th bolt hole. Drill a new hole in the bumper to align with this 4th hole. Then fasten with a new nut and bolt. Good luck.
