getting volvo tach into trim piece

Hmm. the tack won't slide into the trim piece that replaces the blank square. Is there something that I need to geet to hold it aganist this piece, or did the seller sell me a tach from another volvo that is too big to fit in my car? I guess the GT's had one similer in size. Odd though because the guy sold me both the tach and the bezel at the same time.
