Here's another cheap/easy fix for a leaky oil cap gasket:
Take it off the cap and flip it over. The side that was against the valve cover will have a ring on it -- that's what's keeping it from sealing properly. The upper side is still flat and fresh, so it seals well. This is not a long-term solution, because the primary reason it started leaking in the first place was that the gasket is no longer soft and pliable. But introducing the "new" flat side to the valve cover will usually buy you several months -- plenty of time to get a new one along with your next parts order.
