Yes this could be the way to go but this relay, it seems, only allows a preset delay time and would still need modification to allow variable wipe delay from the dash panel to suit changing conditions.
I first came across a system like this on the old Skoda cars, they had a separate knob on the dash for the delay. This acted like an on/off/volume control on a radio to switch delayed wipe on or off and then gave an infinitely variable delay ( within certain limits ).
I can see how I could use an ordinary 4 pin relay to turn the wipers on and off. This would leave the existing relay and it`s functions intact.
The problem is that my electronics skills would be limited to BUILDING the timer circuit required to trigger the relay, the DESIGN of a suitable circuit is, unfortunately, beyond my abilities !!!
