Is it neccessary to use a tie down strap on a cd player installed in the upper dash of a 240

i have had no problems but you may want to get a Metro mounting kit from your local stereo shop or crutchfield.com it has parts to install a din radio in both dash locations in a 240 and to install into a 740 too and someone here could probably use the extra parts for their brick
