I ran 205/70-14's on my '88 245... a tad wide for the 5-1/2" rim width, but the ride was good and the handling was fine. I really like the Yokohama Avid T4 - good prices at Tire Rack. If yours is a sedan, then 185/70-14 is the stock size, and you can easily go to 195/70-14's with minimal odometer/speedo error. BTW, your current tire gives a 5% speedo error on a sedan but is pretty close for a wagon.
