When I did the struts on my '86 240DL sedan last fall, I changed to slightly beefier 260 springs at the same time. The combo is wonderful. The 260 springs are definitely a bit stiffer, but not harsh at all. The ride height is very similar to what it was, with a max of 1/2 inch raise. At 265,000 miles, my springs were definitely growing tired, and the new ones, coupled with wagon springs in the rear, really gives the car a nice spring rate and stance for the rallying I do. Anyways, I would suggest changing them if they are sagging at all, or maybe going to beefier springs if you find a 260 in a junkyard. well, good luck,
