Odd overheating problems on my '83 200

Check out the air filter (maybe clogged from dirt road?) and things that have to do with air flow (fans and the like). Make sure they are working and in good shape!

Take a look at the termostat. I don't know exactly *what* you should be looking for in all of these places, but those would be the parts I think are most likely to be culpable for a problem such as what you've described. Other Brickboarders can give you more specifics.
