Heck I'll do him one better- the rope trick is GREAT and I use it for putting the pulley back ON...
but taking it off simply requires putting the breaker bar and 15/16" socket on the crank nut, position the bar at 4:00 (down, driver's side) when viewed from the front of the car, and bump the starter... 5 seconds later your pulley bolt is loose!
