I had a B20 put in a few months back and included a new exhaust manifold and gasket but the old intake manifold was used and no new gasket listed on the bill. With all that was done, I hope they didn't skimp on this. I don't know how to test for leaks here.
There was a vacuum leak in the throttle bodies before the B20 was installed. I sent the carbs off to Tom Bryant and he rebuilt them. However, I noticed that if I push on the arm of the front carb.,the idle will drop so maybe it doesn't return fully, and there are new springs.
If there is a screw loose in the throttle butterflies, I don't know where to look.
The carb gaskets were not replaced but looked OK, no cracks etc. and I tightened them down as much as I thought reasonable. I am sure they could be wrenched tighter but concerned about overtightening. No torque wrench.
There is a vacuum nipple on the rear carb that has a plastic cap stretched over it.
From what I have said, any tips? Maybe I just take it to a mechanic and get out the checkbook again. ouch!
