Question on Strut Replacement 200

Yama's right about the bearing; no chance of getting this wrong.

On the gland nut: I got my Sachs Advantage (equivalent to Boge Turbo Gas, but manufactured somewhere else) from FCP Groton and they came with what seemed to be a more standard nut with 4 cutouts. As Yama stated, if you use pipe wrenches as I also did, you're not using the cutouts anyway. The only disadvantage if you are using the cutouts would be that you would have to do a full 180 degrees on each turn "stroke" in order to be able to reposition the wrench.

I suppose the other option would be to reuse the old gland nuts. I didn't actually clean the strut tube threads, nor did I put on anti-seize. I suppose I should have done both, but then again, I doubt these'll ever get changed again!

I'll try to check back later to see if you're having any issues. Good luck!
