Have you ever been driving and you get that "somethings hot that shouldn't be" smell in your car? Happened to me yesterday in the 740T. A couple of times I got a whiff of something hot. I pulled the ashtray/fuse panel cover and noticed that the #16 fuse was very hot and the panel around it was beginning to turn brown. I switched off the blower (still running normally) and pulled the fuse and everything cooled off. The fuse NEVER blew but the plastic on the fuse around the leg closest to the firewall was melted and the plastic around that side of the socket was also somewhat melted.
Before I pulled the fuse I had switched the blower off a couple of times and the fuse would cool off.
The blower was not making any strange sounds and was blowing normally. Any ideals as to what's going on here? Which leg of the fuse is hot and which leg is fused? By the way the fuse and panel acted I'm guessing the melted leg was the hot leg.
Help please.
Thanks David
