I've heard the B230 is a tempermental engine that has top-end oiling problems that lead to devouring of the cam.
Info on installing "laid-over" engines abounds on the web. It seems you have to decide if you are to install it upright or not. Laid over can create some clearance/maintenance (fabrication) issues and necessitates using the donor car's tranny too. Upright creates a bell-housing/clutch actuation/pan/oil pump issue. Seems like one year only had an appropriate combo to pull it off. All of which have been solved by others. I seem to recall some posts on the topic but as replies to other posts instead of thread leaders.
Just what you already knew, huh?
Mike!
Oh, I just saw a "custon" bell-housing on e-bay to mount a later model engine to an early transmission (cable clutch actuator, however).
