A/C microswitch question 200 1988

Interestingly, I experienced this same problem last weekend. My remedy was to put a small wrapped piece of electrical tape (sticky side out) between the "flap" and the switch. I think a tiny bit of silicone would be a more permanent solution. My "flap" would move properly when turned to the off position, but not far enough down to push the microswitch in. I tried to adjust the "flap" but could not get it to hold tightly enough to keep the switch pushed in. So far this remedy has worked. My switch is brand new, so I really hate to purchase another switch when I know everything else works just fine.
