The choices are: B M Trouble You, Break My Wallet, Bitch Moan Whine, or a Benz...eeeeek
I had a BMW 3.0 CSL; loved the car; hated the cost of the parts; hated the fact that I was always at my Dad's shop working on that instead of my true love, my Opel GT. I kept the Opel; I still have the Opel; the BMW...off to greener pastures. I gave up.
I never owned a MB; I've priced parts for customers of mine who had sticker shock from other repair shops. I had sticker shock at what MY cost was on the parts. I think opening the hood must cost $200.00.
Of the two, and I don't know this for a fact, I think the BMW would be more "creature comfort" pleasing, but the MB would be more dependable.
I have to ask, if they have the money for this kind of car...have they driven an S60? The turning radius is tons better than the 850 or S70, yet it's basically that same drive train that has been around, modified, and perfected since 1993; it's nubile; it's quick; and with a warranty, and the purchase of an extended warranty; it's a good bet. I'm not particularly fond of the new cars. I think they are over computerized pains in the ass, but, if I "had" to buy one, and it couldn't be the C70 convertible, this is the way I'd go.
