I'm not so sure that pulling the ICU connector is a good idea.

1) Never had a problem there myself, or heard of one here.

2) Bentley (p280-8) has a CAUTION that says not to remove the connector due to the use of one-way guide sleeves that are damaged when disconnected.

That Caution may be an out-dated old wives tale, but I thought I'd mention it.
IMO, a Volvo/Chrysler (MPG) ignition problem is more apt to be in the dist�or related wiring than in the ICU connector. We've never had it off on our 253,000 '86.

But then, Chris is a pro, which I don't claim to be. So......your call.
