How do I narrow the ignition timing advance curve? I want less advance at low RPM and the same at high.
1974 K-jet B20f 145. Runs fine, except pings slightly under low rpm acceleration load. At high RPM +3000 it seems to get it's act together and has great power.
The advance is greatest at closed throttle, right? So when I step on it the vacuum releases and the timing retards. I think I might not have to step so hard if I had less advance at idle. Could I then lean out the K-jet some more?
Is there a replacement variable timing curve distributor?
Will this all be moot when I install my rebuilt engine?
