How to repair odometer in 1987 740 ?

Remove the two screws that retain the stepper moter and circuit board and swing the board out of the way.


This exposes the gear which breaks and is the usual cause of odometer failure.


The pin arrowed below presses out of the housing from right to left to disconnect the gear train from the reels.
